A historic city with diverse tangible and intangible heritage assets, the programme helped young students establish a better understanding of Delhi’s heritage by documenting it and speaking about it through HECS Monument Speak initiative. The programme was attended by 162 students from around 22 schools across the two days. Students drew creative inputs from the various INTACH heritage education activities, workshops and trainings (theatre, dastangoi, calligraphy) to prepare their unique presentations that were indeed interesting and captivating. It was heartening to observe the enthusiasm and efforts put in by the students, in an attempt to document, as well as, speak about their respective monuments. While the first day (29 January 2019) was a play competition, the second day (30 January 2019) was a song competition. The schools appreciated the platform to adopt their local monument and the opportunity to showcase young talent.
