MASK IT ON! ECO-FRIENDLY TRIBAL
How to do the Activity MASKS

HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN MASK
Make your own mask using eco-friendly material. Write to us about your mask and
let us know what materials you used.
1. Draw your mask on paper, making it full of expression.
2. Make a mould of your mask in clay.
3. Find some waste newspaper.
4. Take some nice fl our, heat it and make a thick paste of it.
5. Apply the paste on one side of the paper and stick it on the clay mould.
6. You will notice the paper takes the shape of the mask mould.
7. Paste 8 more layers of paper on the mask mould using the same procedure.
8. After pasting the layers of paper, let it dry and then lift the paper off the
mask mould.
9. After the paper mask dries, paint and decorate the mask. Use materials like
sawdust, wool, felt, rope, thread, tinsel, beads etc. to make facial features such
as braided rope hair, beaded or buttoned eyes and woolly beards.
HOLD IT HIGH!
Design a headgear commonly used in your region or state. Beautify it using materials
that are preferably environment friendly. Send us a picture of this headgear after you
have designed it.
