On this day, in
1972, the
Stockholm
Conference on
Human
Environment was
held in Sweden.
Many countries
expressed their
concerns on
environmental
issues. |

8th June - World Ocean Day: |
 |
|
60 percent of
the world's
coral reefs are
found in the
Indian Ocean.
Today, over 10
percent of these
have been
destroyed. In
addition, more
than 200 marine
species have
become extinct
and many
thousands are
endangered. |
