On 6th August
1945, USA
carried out a
nuclear attack
on Hiroshima in
Japan. More than
70,000 civilians
died in this
tragedy. Human
conflict also
threatens the
wealth of the
world's cultural
legacy. |

World’s Indigenous People: |

It is important
to develop an
equitable
relationship
between the
international
community and
indigenous
people There are
around 370
million
indigenous
people. We must
nurture their
cultural
identity and
customs. |

12th August - International Youth Day: |
 |

In the World
Conference of
Ministers
Responsible for
Youth
(Lisbon, 8-12
August 1998) the
UN General
Assembly
endorsed that 12
August be
declared
International
Youth Day. These
activities would
bring out the
initiative of
youth resulting
in a better
awareness
supported by
action. |
